Where it all started

What do you do when you have a passion for great beer, drinks and food? If you’re Mungo & Guy, you start a beer festival of course.

MFGF Events Ltd, the events company run by us, brothers Mungo & Guy Finlayson was founded to support and further strengthen our festival brands, Banchory Beer Festival and Inverurie Beer Festival.

The idea was first brought to light one winter’s evening over a camp fire in Deeside, early 2014. The brand finally became a reality when we made the trip to companies’ house on the 1st of April 2014 and so MFGF Events Ltd was born.

Since then, the brand has gone from strength to strength and grown with two new directors. We have developed new festivals and have worked hard to collaborate with some of the finest breweries and distilleries in the UK… making some great friends along the way.

Mungo Finlayson :: Operations Director

  • Role: Co- Founder / Operations Director
  • Favourite Drink: Warner Edwards Gin

Mungo, the eldest brother in the founding duo is everything that everyone else is not. Operations – Mungo, marketing mastermind – Mungo, sponsorship lothario – Mungo, logistics guru – Mungo, staff morale booster…. You guessed it, Mungo. And the list goes on.

What is Mungo not? Practical. Please don’t give him a hammer and a nail. We can thank our lucky stars Andy Black is on the team.

Mungo’s official title is ‘Director of Operations & Public Relations’. He brings his wealth of experience from previous roles within travel management, but I think we can all agree this is also known as ‘winging it’. Mungo loves to interact (Skive) with festival goers and chat about what they like and dislike about MFGF Events – at the end of the day this is all for you, so feel free to chat to him during any of our festivals, he really is a loveable character!

When Mungo’s not wearing his sensible hat he enjoys a gin & tonic and a dance to the Mad Ferret band, and can you guess his favourite colour? *Hint, it’s what all the management team have to wear* and you can regularly find him in his orange troos. He’s not very hard to lose.
